0:40after it concludes and we will stick it 0:42up on our YouTube channel as well all 0:45right let's get into it today we're 0:48joined by Alex who's going to be 0:49showcasing the new Starcraft site that 0:51he worked on and yours who's going to be 0:53showcasing magic form uh so I will pass 0:55it over to them now for some 0:56introductions Alex do you want to kick 0:58us off first 1:05hey everyone 1:07um 1:08thank you for having me first of all 1:10second look really nice to meet you all 1:13finally 1:14most of you know me from from Twitter 1:17apparently I don't do too much social 1:20media 1:21and yeah I run 1:24a small design agency here in Barcelona 1:26in Spain 1:28and I will show you my last project so 1:32this is 1:35this is also design company of ours so 1:38we are six people in the company so we 1:39decided to create this 1:42design agencies specifically for 1:44startups 1:46because we're having lately 1:49a lot of leads from the early stage 1:52startup so we decided hey let's actually 1:54do this in public and let's show people 1:57how I would help a framer and with your 1:59idea you can actually start a business 2:01in like in a week 2:06let me share my screen 2:23okay so I have a problem with Internet 2:26yeah so first of all this is like we 2:30have 2:31uh like it like like like a template 2:34which is called a client first 2:36that uh uh after this uh live meeting 2:41with you guys I will share on the 2:42framework Community as a remix link so 2:44you can actually use it for your 2:46projects so it's like a blank template 2:48that we're using so it's structured 2:51really simply a section and inside 2:53section it's counterbrap 2:55uh yeah second of all we try to do this 2:59project this website as simple as 3:02possible just to show you that 3:04everything that you need is actually 3:06free in the frame and Community you can 3:08find the components for example we use 3:12the text component for the small 3:14animation that we have on on the first 3:18two sections probably the most 3:21complicated thing it's this uh 3:24it's not even a logo so this information 3:27that we have 3:29it's also 3:34you can find this one in the framer of 3:39those 3:41in frame Community you can find it as a 3:43remix link so I I don't I don't really 3:47uh I don't really suggest to use it like 3:50like we did because it's absolutely 3:52breaks the the the the All Points of uh 3:56Google Lighthouse if you know this for 3:59it's like show you the the percentage of 4:03your accessibility and the stuff because 4:06it's every single letter here 4:10it's a different component 4:12and this has this animation I will try 4:15to 4:18show you but apparently we have some 4:20small issues with interpretable 4:21connection 4:24yeah it's just it's just we decided to 4:26create it it's a fun yeah as a designer 4:28you should understand me you know if you 4:30if you have some idea inside of you and 4:32your whole team telling you it's not a 4:35really good idea but this inside you you 4:37have the small child designer but 4:39telling you uh I don't care I just want 4:40it on my website so this is exactly what 4:42happened with me so 4:44uh yeah I will show the link I don't 4:48wanna 4:51to get this 4:54too long this presentation of this 4:57website so it's really simple it's 4:59really simple layout we play a little 5:01bit with colors uh we use the technique 5:04mono hermetic technique in the colors 5:07um 5:07you can actually see the same technique 5:09using in the new Barbie movie so they 5:12use just the main color and separated it 5:15in in the four 5:17uh sub colors the same color grade so 5:20it's red 5:21and we have 5:24I believe it's three stages of this red 5:27yeah exactly we have this free uh 5:32non-harmatic themes of red color uh 5:36we didn't uh use too much animations on 5:40the website again just to show you the 5:43Simplicity of the framework how 5:45intuitive this is uh because there's a 5:47lot of questions is there in tutorials 5:50or you know some kind of 5:55some kind of you know help that we can 5:57show the the like young designers who 6:00are not really familiar with forever so 6:01this is exactly what we try to show uh 6:03that the framework is so intuitive you 6:06don't need to have a lot of knowledge in 6:09in in the frame itself if you're using 6:12the sigma uh 6:14if you if you know how to use Auto 6:16layouts and figma and components and 6:19figma so it's mean you know framework 6:21like 90 so as simple as it begins so 6:25don't be afraid to use it it's free 6:27again that's why we're trying to show 6:30how how amazing would help framework you 6:33can build something some some your 6:35company website or your idea or even on 6:38a some kind of or online store for for 6:42digital products because you can connect 6:44your payments you can connect uh you 6:48know 6:49uh stripe I believe you can lemon 6:53squeeze it so you should know all those 6:55payment platforms so it's it's again if 6:58you have an idea just jump straight away 7:00to to designing your website and in just 7:04one week or that you can actually create 7:06in one night so it's it's so simple 7:12what we used 7:15we use pre-built animations here so 7:17again we didn't go too much with the 7:21customization 7:22again as the idea was just to show this 7:25in public that the Simplicity of the 7:28frame is just like big shout out to the 7:31whole frameworking for making such a 7:33great product that you can use you know 7:35with like beginner skills let's say so 7:39you don't need to know any coding you 7:42don't need to know like it's good to 7:44know coding but if you don't have any 7:46development skills you don't need them 7:49to just build a really great website 7:51uh yeah I will show the link I don't I I 7:54can see that I have small connection 7:58problems just to show you how it works 8:01but I will show the link so you can try 8:03it yourself 8:04uh and I will definitely will share the 8:08cloneable for template that we're using 8:11for our clients so you don't need you 8:13know to spend too much time 8:16on pre-building sections and content 8:18wrap and it has already uh the funds 8:23different sizes for all the devices so 8:25we did we did this really great template 8:28so you can use it and you don't need to 8:30spend like an extra hour or two just to 8:33pre-building all those 8:35uh you know components and sections and 8:40different font sizes for for all the 8:42devices so yeah just a small present 8:45from us to the whole community and yeah 8:47it just just a project that we're really 8:50proud about we like one couple of words 8:53I know that for some design it's not 8:55like something something you know crazy 8:57Awards but again we're just proud to to 9:00share this with you the whole community 9:02and I hope you like as much as you know 9:06I do 9:07[Music]9:08and yeah yeah thank you thank you very 9:22to work on Trevor I know you got that 9:24really nice custom cursor on that on 9:26that site oh oh yeah sure sure uh I 9:29forget his name I'm sorry uh uh uh but I 9:33can also share the link it's in the 9:35family community it's a cloneable well 9:37it's uh it's override it's called code 9:39override so you just copy and paste the 9:42code and you can customize the color and 9:45the size and the hover effect so yeah 9:48yeah it's it's everything that we used 9:51you can find easily on the framing 9:52Community as a remix links or as a 9:55tutorials yes there's like there's so we 9:58also have 9:59or this nice footer reveal effect when 10:03you're gonna scroll down it's like again 10:05and it's also on the framework community 10:07so everything that you see on the 10:09website you can easily find in the 10:11framing Community there's no custom 10:13coding was made so this is exactly what 10:15we try to check like if you like it 10:17something our website go to the framing 10:19community and you can find it as a mixed 10:21link or a tutorial so there's no no like 10:24secret sauce on the website everything 10:27is free and yeah yeah just if you like 10:29it I'm just seen 10:45that it's really cool as well that you 10:46built it like fully from from remix 10:49links and things that that other people 10:51are making available in the community 10:53that's one of my favorite things about 10:55the framer Community is how everyone 10:57shares when they build something cool 10:59and they they teach everyone else how to 11:00do it as well 11:02um yeah it was really cool to see 11:04exactly exactly and I I I'm like I have 11:07uh I'm sorry for interrupting you uh 11:12I I have a lot of questions you know 11:14because I sometimes share some of my 11:16designs on Twitter basically I I don't 11:18know social media they have and people 11:19asking so I always tell them do not be 11:22afraid to ask for any help in the 11:24community 11:26100 someone gonna reply you and someone 11:28gonna help you there's no such a thing 11:30you know that someone is hiding 11:32something you know I mean or or anyone 11:35don't wanna you know just just help like 11:38like a friendly help not not 11:43so yeah again if you want something go 11:46jump in the framework Community ask 11:47questions and definitely you you you're 11:51gonna have a response as a framer or mix 11:54link or tutorial or video someone 11:56someone can navigate You No One's Gonna 11:58Leave You like behind without any you 12:01know uh question asked or the help 12:05if it makes sense it does it right next up is yours 12:33this is through uh Magic form so yours 12:35built magic form to allow you to build 12:37complex forms in just a matter of 12:39seconds uh again please make sure to 12:42just drop any questions that you have in 12:43the chat and I will I'll make sure to 12:45pass them over uh yours take it away 12:47yeah thank you well first Alex a very 12:50nice website man it looks very cool 12:52um so uh nice to showed us uh hi 12:55everyone I'm yours I'm 33 years old I 12:57live in Amsterdam uh with my girlfriend 12:59and my kid 13:01um and I guess it's fair to say that I'm 13:04probably the worst designer in the whole 13:06framework Community 13:07um I'm actually more like I think we 13:09must have more of like a problem solver 13:11I just like to make solutions for people 13:13that are actually very easy to use I've 13:15run a startup for seven years uh I quit 13:18that in the last February 13:21um so yeah then I had a quite open 13:23Agenda and not really any plan what to 13:25do 13:27um but in the end I just wanted to get 13:29some time to start new things and 13:31actually enjoy some quality time with my 13:34family a little bit 13:36um so yeah I thanks again 13:40but now I really lost the story but 13:44that's right I'll pick it up so um 13:46yeah you know when I first started out 13:49in February I was just like what do I 13:51want to do and I always a new framework 13:52from the past when I use it for a 13:54prototyping tool 13:56um and then after I felt like let's just 13:59get into some some more no code tools 14:02and I really started now the first thing 14:04I opened actually was framer and I guess 14:06it's safe to say that I kind of got 14:08addicted to it a little bit 14:11um so like I just started using it and I 14:13was so amazed at how easy it was to 14:15build website it always took me so much 14:17time for to build it from scratch or I 14:19never used anything else and I was so 14:21amazed at how great it worked that I 14:24kind of lost myself into it for a couple 14:25of weeks and then I started like in 14:27April I did like a daily drop where I 14:29just try to release everything uh I did 14:31a daily drop everything every day 14:34um and that almost turned into like a 14:36full-time job because I just wanted to 14:38push myself every day and create like 14:40more more and better content to to help 14:43everybody learn framework but also learn 14:46myself from it 14:48um so yeah that that kept me uh going 14:51forward for a little bit 14:53um and also like just because I was so 14:55active on Twitter and I really liked the 14:57community but also like friends of me 14:59who needed websites they they started 15:02asking me and they were just like hey 15:04can you make me build me a website and I 15:06started building a website it was pretty 15:08nice but everybody was having problems 15:11with forms right I mean like framer has 15:13like this the the simple form where you 15:15like connected to form spark or they 15:17have their input right now which you can 15:18connect a little bit more but it's 15:20always like there's more of a sign up 15:21form right it's not like very detailed 15:23contact forms and 15:25um so I was like why isn't that there 15:28and and but the problem with me is I 15:30don't really know how to code actually I 15:32mean like I can do basic JavaScript like 15:34making a ternary or something but I'm 15:36not like a very good coder or anything 15:38um 15:39but like in the daily drops I I kind of 15:42played around with your GPT as well and 15:44and I thought I'll just give it a go and 15:47in the end I just coded a whole form 15:50component which at GPT did the Help from 15:52it 15:53um and that actually turned out pretty 15:54cool 15:55um I had an idea to just build like 15:58something where everybody could make 15:59forms very easily 16:01um but also at like full control over 16:03the styling 16:04so I'll um I'll just show you the 16:07component where you can actually see how 16:08it works 16:10um so give me a second this is the 16:13website let me dive into framework so I 16:16just have a simple page setup over here 16:18and here you see like a component well 16:20this is the magic form component and um 16:23over here you see like your property 16:24panel so you don't really need to do 16:26anything on the canvas it's like very 16:28easy and you see at the moment you see 16:31that we have the first name we have to 16:33sign up and we have to send message if 16:35I'm just going to preview this you see 16:37that obviously the hover stage and you 16:38can just click it and at the moment it's 16:41just a very not a very special form but 16:45if you go over here you can change all 16:47the types and all the information on 16:49there so if you go to input types you 16:51see we have a text input and checkbox 16:53but all you need to do to add more 16:54filters is correct that click the add 16:56button and then you can select a new 16:58input type wow we have a few different 17:00input fields 17:02I'm not going to go through all of them 17:04because it's going to just be a little 17:05bit I don't know waste of everybody's 17:07time but if you want to catch somebody's 17:09email you can just select the email you 17:11can put up the value this one is 17:13actually pretty important because this 17:15is going to be sent towards all the form 17:17providers where the data will end up 17:18obviously 17:21um but over here you can also select I 17:23do I want to display a label yes or no 17:25so everything just works like click and 17:26oh you just have to click it and fill in 17:28the fields also if you want form 17:30validations you can just put required on 17:32like if you see yes and the little 17:33asterisks will place next to the name if 17:36I put required off it will disappear 17:38you can also put icons in it so if I put 17:41the icon so I can you can just scroll 17:44through all of the icons you can 17:45exchange whatever you want and you can 17:47change the width 17:50um this will automatically Flex into 17:51Precision if you have to uh that it will 17:54be next to each other so if I just 17:56change the position and also put this 17:58one to the width now there's no label on 18:00it so that's a bit weird but like this 18:02you can actually build very nice forms 18:05wow this is only how you create the 18:07forms because we have a required field 18:09now you also see that this one will 18:11light up with an error uh if it's not 18:14fail if you didn't put in your 18:16information 18:17um but this is not the only thing you 18:19can customize you can just customize 18:20everything you want from the input so if 18:22you want to change some styling like the 18:24background or do anything with it you 18:26can just simply change all of the fields 18:28I've tried to come up with like every 18:30single thing you want to be able to 18:32change that you can change it 18:34um so if you would like to for instance 18:37have a border uh not not only on the on 18:40the on around it but only on the bottom 18:42you can just leave these empty and then 18:44you will get a border on the bottom so 18:47you can actually fit it in with every 18:49style that you prefer uh just to make it 18:52work with your website 18:53and you can also like change the check 18:56boxes to a dark mode so if you are using 18:59like frame or you have a dark website 19:00you can actually make it that it works 19:02with dark mode 19:05um 19:06that are some cool things uh obviously 19:08you can install the whole button for 19:10success and you can show a toast message 19:13or you can redirect to another page 19:14loads of people actually want to have a 19:16different setup so what we all try to do 19:20is just to make sure that you can do it 19:22whatever you want or this is what's the 19:24there was the first version 19:26um I can if somebody wants to know I can 19:28actually talk a little bit about how I 19:29created it and how I went through it but 19:32I might leave it for some questions if 19:34people really want to know that as it's 19:36kind of just like jet GPT and like 19:38working with like code a little bit 19:40inside framer 19:42um but today is also a very cool day 19:44because I have uh I've worked the last 19:47weeks on a few updates for the magic 19:49form component because uh obviously when 19:52I release this a lot of people were like 19:53really psyched about it but one of the 19:56there were so many features that people 19:58really miss actually still so obviously 20:01there are like other foreign providers 20:02in other like at least other tools that 20:04you can use but they also need to be 20:06better so it's not really a native tool 20:08so the styling of that is kind of hard 20:10so imagine form it would be great 20:12obviously if we could have a little bit 20:13more features wow so I'm just going to 20:16show to the next page which is actually 20:17the new component it just looks the same 20:20I have the first name and last name over 20:21here 20:22um but it's a little bit different 20:24uh one of the cool things actually is 20:26that if you make it required you can 20:28actually change the validation message 20:30so if I want to say for instance like 20:32please enter uh please enter something 20:35then this will just be the message that 20:37will be displayed below the input so you 20:40can actually change your whole 20:41validation measure if you leave it empty 20:43only the Box will light up 20:46um and you can also 20:49um like there's a new thing which I call 20:51outline if you select it and you have 20:52like a different like a larger outline 20:54so these are just a bit more uh these 20:57are just a little bit more uh yeah 21:00complex features that actually allow 21:02users to have a bit more uh sense of 21:04where they are but one of the largest 21:07things that actually has been requested 21:08like almost everybody who used the form 21:10actually requested this is multi-steps 21:13and a multi-step form is obviously very 21:16nice for people if you have like large 21:17and complex forms because you know if 21:19you want to use the first name and last 21:21name in an email I mean then it all fits 21:23right onto the screen but think about 21:25like type form or something right if you 21:27want to get like a lot of information 21:28from your users or your visitors it 21:31might be nice you know to guide them a 21:33little bit more through the pro to the 21:34process well but it's kind of I always 21:38had like a little problem with it like 21:39defining how can we actually do this 21:41right how can we make a multi-form 21:43because we're only working with this 21:44kind of input over here well as you can 21:47see already here you can see that it's 21:48also says step one well this is how 21:51actually how easy it turned out for me 21:53once I figured out how I needed to do it 21:55you should only need to be able to 21:57change it into step two 21:59of course step three step four step five 22:01step six and this will already display 22:03like bubbles below it well I'm just 22:05going to jump in real quick to another 22:07page where I actually set this up 22:09um so over here I have like a little 22:10preview of it so this is my new other 22:14page where I just set it up and here you 22:16see first name last name email and a 22:18drop down and we actually have three 22:20steps so I have step one step two step 22:22three and 22:23if you go here all you need to do is you 22:26see also as well we're in step one now 22:28of the step of the three steps it says 22:29continue if we just fill in the 22:31information with uh well magic forum.com 22:35this is actually not the email because 22:37the website is get magic form and I 22:39don't actually have an email address yet 22:41so just send me a message to Twitter if 22:43you have point to mail me but if you 22:45click continue you just go to the second 22:46step 22:48um this obviously works as well 22:51[Music]22:52and then we go over here well now we're 22:57at the first step you can actually hover 22:58on the second or the first one just to 23:00go back to that stage it all just 23:02remembers all of the information so all 23:04you need to do is click it and submit it 23:07the server I'm sending the data to is 23:09now starting up because it's a bit oh 23:12I'm not even submitting it because I'm 23:14in uh in in in the preview mode so I 23:17really need to go to the website to make 23:19it work 23:20um because obviously now we're just in 23:22the preview mode 23:23um so this is one example how you can do 23:25it 23:26um another page that's set up is 23:27actually a little bit of a type form 23:29replica so this is another way how you 23:32can see it 23:34um this is this one large input field 23:36that actually if you go to the website 23:38like to your website you can actually 23:39link to one of your other framework 23:40Pages where you just have your magic 23:42form so in here and with pressing the 23:45enter button you just go to the next 23:47input 23:49um you also see over here we now have a 23:51slider inside of the dots and you have a 23:52manual go back button 23:54um that is something you can also select 23:57from your component so if I just go to 24:00the steps which is a new Option you can 24:03select if you want to slide or you want 24:05a circle like circles are just 24:07displaying the steps inside the circle 24:08and slider just gives you a slider some 24:10of them have like different uh like 24:13different styling options obviously if 24:15you have a circle you need one more 24:17color coding to also have like the 24:18previous step 24:20wow so this is like the newest feature 24:23that I've that I've built into the magic 24:24form 24:26um and well this is also something that 24:28actually might be fun for the community 24:30as well because uh to to maybe like get 24:32some information for me as well on at 24:35the moment the magic form component was 24:37like I had like three little tiers it 24:39was like a free tier a medium tier like 24:41a pro tear which you can just buy for 24:43once and the use for everyone uh for all 24:46but I'm actually now thinking a little 24:48bit more because I think that step 24:49system is actually pretty cool 24:52um just to make it like free 24:54um but then that it will link to you 24:56can't really send it out to any other 24:59um providers anymore but everything 25:01needs to be sent to Magic form which is 25:03something I also build in the last few 25:05weeks this is very ugly because this is 25:09very bad so nobody has ever seen it this 25:11is also I'm not building Frameworks 25:12excuse me 25:15um but this is just like my own form 25:17provider so you can just create an 25:19account you can log in 25:21um it's actually very easy you just 25:22click new form and you say like yeah 25:25well a community community session 25:29then we have a new form well there's no 25:31data now but you can just copy the form 25:33ID and if you put it over here 25:36and you publish your site then it 25:38actually connects to the magic form 25:39component and all of your form data will 25:41be coming in here 25:43um so I'm actually thinking about 25:44getting the uh the the the magic form 25:48component that's for free and then like 25:50really little subscription based service 25:51in here which obviously has a nice free 25:53plan for everybody to use 25:55um but yeah so this is Magic form this 25:57is what I've been doing lately I hope 25:59you guys like it if there are any 26:00questions please don't hesitate to ask 26:04so cool thank you so so much you are 26:06throwing us through that and we have one 26:09question from Seb um is there the 26:11possibility to add an upload upload file 26:14field if not is it planned for a future 26:17release 26:18yeah that's actually a a good question 26:21um obviously there will be there will be 26:23pretty nice 26:26um at the moment it's not possible in a 26:29magic form but I tried it already I'm 26:33technically it's possible uh only there 26:35was like I had a problem sending the 26:37form or the the data from the file 26:38somewhere but now that I've created like 26:41my own backend for the whole 26:42infrastructure I think it actually would 26:44be possible 26:46um but I need a little bit more time 26:48because as you saw the whole platform is 26:50still like very early beta uh so yeah 26:53there will be something for in the 26:55future but that will definitely be there 26:58sweet thank you uh we have a question 27:00from euron as well um can it be 27:03connected to HubSpot 27:06um at the moment not yet uh it's just 27:09now at the moment it's just a simple 27:11place where you can find your form uh 27:14data and the reason I actually started 27:17building it is because 27:19it's a bit of a technical reason but uh 27:22it's very easy to send like data from 27:24from uh from like a from from within 27:27frame or to like to like form spark or 27:30anything but if you want to get like 27:32your data into MailChimp or other 27:33providers you're gonna need there's 27:36gonna be like the need for API keys and 27:38stuff to actually connect to your 27:39account 27:40um so that was one of the problems I 27:44actually ran into just like connecting 27:46with HubSpot as well so what I actually 27:48want to do if the whole Magic form app 27:52is live then I want to build like 27:54Integrations to like shape here to like 27:56uh notion HubSpot uh MailChimp and then 28:00you can just select the the provider and 28:03put in your API key and then once it the 28:06data arrives in Magic form it will be 28:09sended to watch your app towards your 28:11tool of choice 28:13so these are all like future 28:14Integrations I want to build 28:16totally makes a ton of sense I'd say 28:18that's a long list you've got to lay all 28:21the groundwork first and then move on to 28:23the bigger 28:25the bigger suite and then we have one 28:27more question 28:28um would the paid version allow you to 28:31export the form data does that question 28:33make sense yeah it makes sense uh I I 28:37mean like this is off very early I have 28:39no idea what I'm going to to be doing 28:42with it I mean it's it's just a nice 28:44side project where I'm spending my 28:46evenings on uh so I it's hard for me to 28:49kind of decide how I want to do it for 28:51now I'll just be like updating the the 28:53magic form component uh so if you want 28:56to use like the whole step system I'm 28:58gonna update it tonight so you can like 29:00get it tomorrow if you get the pro 29:02version where it will be in if you ever 29:04buy that I will obviously like like make 29:06it so that you will have like a lifetime 29:08value or something for uh for the for 29:10the for the new tool if we ever dread 29:13prayer if I ever change like the whole 29:15subscriptions and everything or 29:16something so don't be afraid to uh 29:20that the data will also be somewhere 29:22where you kind of access it 29:24um but for now I I mean the the form 29:26that it will always be like obviously 29:27you can just download the Json or CSF uh 29:30CSV file uh I'm not sure if like 29:33integration would be inside of paid 29:35planner in a free plan I haven't thought 29:38that out but for now you can I will just 29:41update the whole old magic form 29:43component so you can actually create the 29:45steps and also send it still to to like 29:48form spark or something 29:51switch that makes a lot of sense thank 29:53you for explaining 29:55does
