About this lesson

The Framer CMS has been completely redesigned to make managing large collections faster and more intuitive. The new table view introduces full inline editing across all cells, eliminating the need to open overlays for most changes, with support for multi-cell selection, bulk actions, and quick copy and paste. Statuses, toggles, references, images, icons, and colors can all be updated directly in place. Keyboard navigation has been re-engineered from the ground up. Columns can now be resized, reordered, and customized, giving full control over the layout. New filtering and search capabilities make it easier to find exactly what you need, and collections can now be organized into folders for better structure. Additionally, fields have been moved to a dedicated panel with a cleaner UI and more space to manage fields. See the full list of additions here: https://www.framer.com/updates/cms-3.0

0:23Hi everyone, this is Ao from Framer and0:25I'm extremely excited to show you a0:28brand new version of the Framer CMS.0:32Both the table view as well as the item0:35overlay have been completely redesigned0:38to provide a much better experience0:40while editing large collections like0:43this website's directory.0:45Now let's say I want to quickly edit the0:48title of an item. I don't need to open0:50the overlay anymore like before, but I0:53can simply select one cell and then0:56click again to edit its content in line,0:59which is a huge timesaver and a much1:02more natural way of editing content in a1:04table. And the selection can be extended1:08to multiple cells, for instance, to1:10delete content or to copy paste into1:13multiple cells like I'm doing here with1:16command C and command B. Now, let me1:19undo this change to show you that draft1:22and live statuses have been redesigned1:25to be much more clear than before and1:28you can edit them in line as well. Now,1:32every single cell you see in the table1:35view can be edited in line. Here, for1:37instance, I'm adding and removing1:40multi-references.1:42And while remaining on the table view, I1:45can even pick a different icon in line1:48or change an image or even update a1:52color.1:54Lastly, switching toggles on and off is1:57way faster than before. And if you have2:00a multi selection like here, you can2:02just hit enter to toggle them all at the2:05same time.2:07Now I'm zooming out a bit to show you2:09that apart from showing and hiding2:12columns, you can also resize them to2:14your need. Additionally, you can quickly2:17rearrange them to any order you like,2:20making the collection view truly yours2:23to customize.2:26I also want to show you that the table2:28fully supports keyboard navigation. Here2:31I'm just moving my selection with arrow2:33keys and then I'm holding shift and2:36hitting arrow keys to select multiple2:38cells.2:40And this is not only limited to the2:42table view. For instance, if I have a2:44selection and I hit spacebar, that cell2:47will open in the overlay. And from here2:50I can move by hitting tab and then enter2:53to edit a field.2:56Now back to the table to show you that2:58we added new ways of filtering items.3:02You can either filter by status or by3:05fields that are set or not set. And3:08while a filter is active, you can also3:11search next to it. So you can narrow3:13down to exactly what you need.3:17While we are in this upper left corner,3:20I want to show you that you can finally3:22organize your collections into folders.3:25For those projects with many3:27collections, this really helps in3:29keeping everything nice and tidy.3:32Lastly, collection fields have been3:34moved to their own dedicated panel. This3:37provides way more vertical space to3:40grow, and their properties are now3:42simpler and more focused with dedicated3:45popouts. This panel is also the place3:48where you can add any new field you need3:52of any kind.3:54This is it for this overview. We really3:57hope you enjoy the new CMS and cannot4:00wait to hear your feedback to make it4:02even better. Thank you so much for4:05watching and happy building.
