About this lesson

The Framer CMS has been completely redesigned to make managing large collections faster and more intuitive. The new table view introduces full inline editing across all cells, eliminating the need to open overlays for most changes, with support for multi-cell selection, bulk actions, and quick copy and paste. Statuses, toggles, references, images, icons, and colors can all be updated directly in place. Keyboard navigation has been re-engineered from the ground up. Columns can now be resized, reordered, and customized, giving full control over the layout. New filtering and search capabilities make it easier to find exactly what you need, and collections can now be organized into folders for better structure. 0:23Hi everyone, this is Ao from Framer and 0:25I'm extremely excited to show you a 0:28brand new version of the Framer CMS.0:32Both the table view as well as the item 0:35overlay have been completely redesigned 0:38to provide a much better experience 0:40while editing large collections like 0:43this website's directory.0:45Now let's say I want to quickly edit the 0:48title of an item. I don't need to open 0:50the overlay anymore like before, but I 0:53can simply select one cell and then 0:56click again to edit its content in line,0:59which is a huge timesaver and a much 1:02more natural way of editing content in a 1:04table. And the selection can be extended 1:08to multiple cells, for instance, to 1:10delete content or to copy paste into 1:13multiple cells like I'm doing here with 1:16command C and command B. Now, let me 1:19undo this change to show you that draft 1:22and live statuses have been redesigned 1:25to be much more clear than before and 1:28you can edit them in line as well. Now,1:32every single cell you see in the table 1:35view can be edited in line. Here, for 1:37instance, I'm adding and removing 1:40multi-references.1:42And while remaining on the table view, I 1:45can even pick a different icon in line 1:48or change an image or even update a 1:52color.1:54Lastly, switching toggles on and off is 1:57way faster than before. And if you have 2:00a multi selection like here, you can 2:02just hit enter to toggle them all at the 2:05same time.2:07Now I'm zooming out a bit to show you 2:09that apart from showing and hiding 2:12columns, you can also resize them to 2:14your need. Additionally, you can quickly 2:17rearrange them to any order you like,2:20making the collection view truly yours 2:23to customize.2:26I also want to show you that the table 2:28fully supports keyboard navigation. Here 2:31I'm just moving my selection with arrow 2:33keys and then I'm holding shift and 2:36hitting arrow keys to select multiple 2:38cells.2:40And this is not only limited to the 2:42table view. For instance, if I have a 2:44selection and I hit spacebar, that cell 2:47will open in the overlay. And from here 2:50I can move by hitting tab and then enter 2:53to edit a field.2:56Now back to the table to show you that 2:58we added new ways of filtering items.3:02You can either filter by status or by 3:05fields that are set or not set. And 3:08while a filter is active, you can also 3:11search next to it. So you can narrow 3:13down to exactly what you need.3:17While we are in this upper left corner,3:20I want to show you that you can finally 3:22organize your collections into folders.3:25For those projects with many 3:27collections, this really helps in 3:29keeping everything nice and tidy.3:32Lastly, collection fields have been 3:34moved to their own dedicated panel. This 3:37provides way more vertical space to 3:40grow, and their properties are now 3:42simpler and more focused with dedicated 3:45popouts. This panel is also the place 3:48where you can add any new field you need 3:52of any kind.3:54This is it for this overview.
