About this lesson

Introducing Auto Translate, our newest addition to Localization. This feature keeps your content in sync across all locales automatically, both when you add content in the Canvas and in the CMS. You can it in locale settings where you’ll find new AI controls. From there, choose a model or let Framer pick the recommended one. Once you picked your preference and the Auto Translate option is enabled, any new or updated content on the Canvas gets immediately translated across all enabled languages, and the same applies to CMS content like blog posts. You can continue editing and publishing without ever worrying about missing translations. And For teams that prefer more control, the Localization view now includes a Translate All action that can update all the locales of the project at once, or lets you select only a subset of them. Additionally, you can now also translate specific layers directly from the Canvas by right clicking a layer and picking Translate Content, or you can do the same for specific pages in the panel.

0:01Hi everyone. Keeping translations up to0:04date can be timeconuming especially0:07without a dedicated team. Imagine a page0:10translated into multiple languages and0:13you make one addition to a heading like0:15I'm doing now.0:19If you forget to update its localization0:22before publishing, that change won't0:25carry over to other languages. Which0:28means after publishing your site, some0:30parts might remain untransated.0:33To fix this, you'd have to go back, open0:36the localization view, and manually0:38trigger translations.0:41Starting today, there is a better way.0:43If you go into a locale settings, you'll0:46see new AI controls. Here you can enable0:50auto translate.0:53Once enabled, you can also choose which0:55AI model to use.0:57We included the models that performed1:00best in our internal testing and we'll1:03continue adding more over time. I'll1:05keep the default model selected and1:07click update. Framer will prompt me to1:11translate all existing content so1:13nothing stays outdated.1:16And now the interesting part on the1:19canvas I'll add a new subline.1:23As soon as I finish typing, Premier1:25automatically translates it in Japanese1:28and all other locals with auto translate1:31enabled. So if I publish and switch to1:34another language, everything is already1:37translated. This means you can keep1:39editing and publishing your site without1:41ever worrying about updating1:43translations again or about leaving1:45untransated content on your site.1:49By the way, this also works with CMS1:52content.1:53For example, if I add a new blog post in1:56my articles collection, then preview it1:59and switch locale, everything gets2:01automatically translated.2:04Massive times saver. We also heard that2:07some teams prefer a mix of automatic and2:10manual translations. For that, we've2:12added a few improvements. In the2:15localization view, you can now click2:17translate all to update all locals at2:20once or choose the specific locales you2:23want to translate.2:26Starting today, you can also select2:28individual layers in the canvas, then2:31right click and translate those2:33specifically.2:35And if you want to translate specific2:38pages, you can do the same from the page2:40menu, which will then show the local2:43selector we've seen before.2:46We truly hope this update will make it2:49much easier to translate your site in2:51multiple languages. See you next time2:54and happy building.
