0:00We've structured our content, written0:02metadata, and tagged everything with0:04intention. Now, it's time to make sure0:07all of that work actually works. So, in0:11this lesson, we'll walk through how to0:13test and audit our site for SEO and0:15accessibility, plus share a quick launch0:18checklist and a few helpful tips to help0:20your site grow even after you hit0:22publish.0:24Before0:27we ever hit publish, it's worth stepping0:29back and reviewing our site with fresh0:31eyes. Or better yet, having someone else0:34do it, because even with all the tools0:36and automation in the world, a0:38thoughtful human check is what makes a0:40good site great. Here are some things we0:43want to check before going live. Does0:46every page have a clear title, a concise0:48description, and a clean URL? Are0:51headings used in the right order with no0:53skipped levels or misplaced H1s? Can we0:56tab through the page in a logical way0:59without losing track of focus? Are all1:01images tagged with alt text? And are1:04icons or graphics links labeled with1:06Arya? Do buttons and links clearly1:09describe what they do? And are the site1:12settings like language and motion1:13preferences properly configured? Another1:17thing that we're going to want to do1:18before launch is to preview how our1:20pages will appear when shared on1:22platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, or1:24Slack. If we head over to our site1:27settings and scroll down within the1:29general section, we'll see that framer1:31has a place for us to set a default1:32social image along with our favicon and1:35an Apple touch icon. But we can also1:38override the social image per page. and1:40it's worth doing, especially for landing1:44pages, blog posts, or anything that1:46might be shared externally. A clean1:48preview builds trust and clicks. Okay,1:52so now let's talk about an easy way to1:54get a quick read on your site's1:56performance with Google Lighthouse. It's1:59built right into Chrome DevTools, which2:01is a set of developer tools available in2:04Chrome that allows us to inspect, debug,2:07and test websites. To open it while2:09previewing your site in Chrome, just2:11rightclick anywhere on your site and2:13choose inspect. Then click the2:16Lighthouse tab to run audits for2:18performance accessibility SEO and2:21more. It provides a score along with2:24actionable suggestions, but it's good to2:26note that Lighthouse is just a helpful2:28baseline. Doesn't catch everything. For2:31example, it might pass your page for2:33accessibility, even if you used vague2:36button labels like click here. So, use2:39it, but realize there are other options2:41to test SEO and accessibility that allow2:44you to go deeper. Things like ARF's web2:47master tools and Axe dev tools will give2:50you more insight, but also might require2:52some additional costs depending on your2:55needs. The moral of the story is to test2:57in multiple places to get a good idea3:00for what is working on your site. Now,3:02once we've gone live, we don't want to3:05wait around hoping Google finds our3:07site. So, it's also not a bad idea to3:09submit your site to Google Search3:11Console to get indexed faster and3:13monitor how your pages perform in3:15search. This also allows us to see which3:19keywords bring people to our site,3:21monitor indexing status and crawl3:23errors, and track how the visibility3:26improves over time. The best part is3:28that it's free and incredibly useful. So3:31don't skip out on this step. Finally,3:33remember that SEO isn't a one-time task.3:36It's an ongoing process. So monitor how3:39your content is performing right inside3:41of Framer's built-in analytics. Revisit3:44pages that aren't getting traffic. keep3:46testing, keep refining, and make sure to3:49keep accessibility in mind while the3:51site grows. Sites change and so do their3:55audiences, but the more intentional we3:56are with our structure and content, the3:59more resilient and adaptable our site4:01will be in the long run. So, by now4:04you've learned how to structure your4:05content semantically, describe your4:07images and elements clearly, fine-tune4:09your metadata, and test your site before4:12launch. I know SEO and accessibility can4:15feel technical, but Framer makes it easy4:17and no more complicated than it has to4:19be. The tools are there, but the power4:21is in how you use them. Now, get out4:24there and build something amazing.
