The June Update brings brand new Linking features to Framer. We’ve redesigned our Linking UI across the app, enabling us to add more properties like Rel. Rel attributes define the relationship between the current page and a linked page. They help with SEO, protect user privacy, and give search engines context about a link’s origin and purpose. For example, setting Rel to No Follow tells search engines not to pass SEO value, often used for untrusted links. Similarly, Sponsored marks paid or sponsored content, while U G C indicates user-generated content, like linking to comments. We’re also introducing Variable support to A11Y properties like Aria Label and Tab Index, helping you create more accessible Components. 0:00Yo, my name is Benjamin and this is the 0:04linking update in Framer. We have 0:07redesigned our linking UI to support 0:10many more properties like real 0:13parameters and tracking. The new 0:16parameters property allows us to keep 0:18the existing URL parameters when 0:22clicking external links that might also 0:24have URL parameters. Here's an example.0:28Our demo site has a UTM campaign 0:31parameter. And when we now click our 0:34external link, we get its parameters 0:36plus the source URL parameters. In our 0:40case, the UTM campaign. Great for 0:43tracking external links. Next, let's 0:46talk about RA. RA attributes define the 0:50relationship between the current page 0:52and a linked page. They help with SEO,0:56protect user privacy, and give search 0:59engines context about a link's origin 1:03and purpose. Here's how they work in 1:06Framer. I'll select my button here, go 1:09to the link panel, and let's pretend 1:12this is a sponsored Amazon link. I'll 1:15simply add the rail attribute set to 1:19sponsored. And that's all there is to 1:22it. We can also add multiple rail 1:25attributes to a single link. If this 1:28were a link to a comment thread, for 1:31example, we could set re to both UGC and 1:35no follow. This tells the browser we're 1:38linking to user generated content, and 1:41it tells Google not to associate our 1:44site with the linked page. And all of 1:46these new properties have been added to 1:49the CMS as well, making linking in 1:53Framer more powerful across the board.1:57And that's pretty much it for this 1:59video.
