About this lesson

The January Update introduces tons of improvements to our layout tools, zooming, and more. Zooming with mouse and trackpads feels more natural and predictable, and we improved key zooming actions like Zoom to Fit and Zoom To Selection, which you can now make a zooming default via a new preference. 0:00yo my name is Benjamin and here are 0:03seven layout improvements we made to 0:05framer first I can now hit shift a as an 0:08extra shortcut to wrap layers in an auto 0:11sizing stack second I can now use enter 0:14to select the children of my selection 0:17even if my selection contains a text 0:19layer third when wrapping layers on the 0:22canvas either in a stack or a frame we 0:25now wrap them without any fill so here I 0:29used the command enter shortcut to wrap 0:32my selection in a frame fourth a new 0:35zooming preference let me set the stage 0:38by zooming out a little bit using the 0:40command K menu I can enable keyboard 0:43zooms to selection and if I now hit 0:46command plus to zoom in it will zoom 0:50into our selected page instead of the 0:52center of the canvas next number five in 0:56framer When selecting a layer I can use 0:58escape to grab it parent afterwards your 1:02selection becomes sticky so you can move 1:04this selected parent around now I can 1:07double click to undo this sticky 1:10selection essentially reverting back to 1:12our default selection model as for 1:15number six we now show you the 1:18calculated width and height values of 1:20autosized layers in framer so if I grab 1:24this Frame and set height to fit content 1:27and I then give it some padding you can 1:29now find the actual calculated height 1:32right here in the property panel and 1:35last but not least I can now hit o to 1:38create rounded frames that is frames 1:40with a radius of 50% we even get a nice 1:44visual preview on the canvas and holding 1:47shift I can draw a perfect circle useful 1:50for things like user avatars that's it 1:54for this video thank you so much for 1:56watching and stay tuned we have lots 1:58more on the way
