0:00Components let us easily maintain the0:02content or style of elements that repeat0:05[music] tens or even hundreds of times0:08throughout our site. They're a0:10lifesaver. But sometimes we want to0:12build a whole new component [music]0:14that's meant to replace an old one. But0:17then do we have to go on a scavenger0:18hunt replacing [music] every instance of0:21the new one with the old one? Absolutely0:23not. [music] There's a trick which is0:25why we're here. Let's say I want to0:27replace last year's promo banner with a0:30whole new one. [music] It's a completely0:32different design, so it really doesn't0:34make sense for it to just be a variant0:36of the [music] original component. So,0:38the new banner is a whole new component.0:41Now, on to swapping out all the old ones0:43[music] with the new one. All we need to0:45do is rightclick any instance of the old0:47component on the canvas. And we can0:49either choose [music] replace with to0:51swap just this one instance with a0:53different component or replace all0:55instances [music] with to replace0:57absolutely every instance of this0:59component across the entire site. So I1:02can choose my new [music] banner and I1:05get a dialogue that I'm about to replace1:06a certain number of instances of [music]1:08this projectwide. I'll click confirm and1:12it's a done [music] deal. Every single1:14promotional banner on my entire site has1:16now been replaced with a new one. And1:18the best part is that we can swap back1:20at any time in [music] the future with1:22no headaches whatsoever. That's it for1:24this framer quick tip. [music] I'll see1:26you in the next one.
